— Tiling Sydney

Precision tiling that elevates the whole room.

Master tiling across Sydney — bathrooms, kitchens, floors, feature walls and pools. Certified waterproofing, dead-level substrates and razor-sharp finishes.

— Overview

The finish is only ever as good as the tiler. We are unapologetically obsessive about ours.

Tiling is where a renovation is truly made or lost. A perfect vanity sitting on a lippage-prone floor, or a beautiful stone slab installed with visible saw marks and mismatched grout, ruins the entire effect. At Vestbor Renovations, our lead tilers each have more than fifteen years' experience across residential, boutique retail and hospitality work — and we bring the same craftsmanship to every project.

We handle full-body porcelain, natural stone, glass mosaic, terrazzo, book-matched marble slabs, microcement, terracotta and specialist finishes. Every job starts with substrate — because tiles do not fail, substrates do. We screed floors flat, prime correctly, install decoupling membranes where needed and only then begin setting.

Our waterproofing is installed by licensed applicators to AS 3740 in two coats, inspected and photographed before tiling begins. This single detail — done properly — is the difference between a bathroom that lasts twenty years and one that fails inside five.

Whether you are engaging us for a full renovation or as specialist tilers on someone else's project, you can expect the same standard: crisp mitres, dead-plumb walls, consistent grout lines, level-perfect floors and finishes that look designed rather than assembled.

— Why Vestbor

Why homeowners choose us for tiling.

01

15+ years' experience per lead tiler

No apprentices left unsupervised on your project. Every setting-out and every mitre is done by a senior tiler.

02

Natural stone specialists

Marble, travertine, limestone and quartzite installed with sealed substrates, book-matching and hand-honed edges where required.

03

Certified waterproofing to AS 3740

Two-coat liquid membrane, licensed applicator, independent inspection and full certification documented for you.

04

Dead-flat substrates

Self-levelling compound, decoupling membranes and correct primers — the invisible work that determines finish quality.

Every wall centred, every niche squared, every focal tile aligned. We plan cuts to hide behind fixtures, never in front of them.

— Avoid These

Common mistakes homeowners make.

Tiling over a bad substrate

The finished tile can only ever be as flat and stable as the substrate under it. Skipping self-levelling or decoupling almost always causes failure.

DIY waterproofing

Uncertified waterproofing voids most home insurance and dramatically shortens the life of the bathroom. Always insist on a licensed applicator and written certification.

Choosing tile without checking rectification

Non-rectified tiles have variable edges and need wider grout lines to hide lippage. Rectified tiles are essential for large-format, minimal-grout looks.

Poor setting-out

Small cuts in visible corners, feature tiles that end awkwardly and off-centre niches are all signs of a tiler who did not plan the setting-out.

Wrong grout for the tile

Natural stone with cementitious grout that stains it, or porcelain with sanded grout that scratches it — the wrong grout ruins a great tile job.

Forgetting to seal natural stone

Marble and travertine must be sealed on install and re-sealed periodically. Skipping this step causes irreversible staining.

Do you offer tiling as a standalone service, or only within full renovations?+

Both. We take on standalone tiling projects — feature walls, floors, pools, splashbacks — as well as full-scope renovation tiling. In every case the same senior tilers lead the work.

What is the most important factor in a quality tile installation?+

The substrate. Tiles do not fail — substrates do. We always assess the floor or wall, install screed, self-levelling compound or decoupling membranes where needed, and waterproof wet zones before any tile is set.

Is waterproofing included in your tiling quotes?+

Yes. Where wet zones are involved we quote for two-coat waterproofing by a licensed applicator to AS 3740, plus certification. This is not something we ever skip or shortcut.

Can you install large-format slabs and book-matched stone?+

Yes. Our senior tilers are trained specifically in large-format and slab installation, including full 3.2m sintered and natural stone slabs and book-matched pairs.

What tile finishes work best for wet areas?+

Full-body porcelain, natural stone sealed correctly and slip-rated tiles are all suitable for wet areas. We help you choose the right finish based on look, slip rating, maintenance and the specific wet zone.

Do you install microcement?+

Yes. We install microcement wet-room and feature-wall systems through trained applicators, with certified substrate preparation to prevent cracking.

What warranty do you provide on tiling?+

We provide a written workmanship warranty on our tiling and a certified waterproofing warranty through the licensed applicator. Manufacturer warranties on tile and membrane products apply in addition.
